Change the name of your form

When you create a new form, it's automatically named "My new form". Renaming your form can help you keep your projects organized and make it easier to identify different forms at a glance.

These steps will show you how to rename your form. There are two easy ways to do it.

Method 1: From the Create panel

If you’re currently working on your form, the quickest way to rename it is directly from the Create panel.

Here’s how:

1. Click on My new form in the top left corner. If your form already has a different name, simply click on its existing name to change it.

2. Type the new name for your form into the text box that appears and click Save.

3. The name will be updated and you can continue making edits to your form.

Note that if you are working with a duplicated or copied form, or a form created from a template, it will initially have "(copy)" in its name. You can remove or change this during renaming.

Method 2: From your Workspace

If you’re not currently editing your form, you can rename it from your Workspace.

1. Navigate to the Workspace where the form you want to rename is located.

Here are a few tips to help you pick an effective name for your form:

- Be descriptive: Use names that clearly describe the purpose of the form or its target audience. For example, "2024 Employee feedback survey" is more informative than "Form 1."

- Keep it simple: Avoid overly complicated or lengthy names. Keep it short and to the point.

- Stay consistent: If you have multiple forms, consider a naming convention that helps you and your team quickly identify related forms.
